Exclusively for NSAC and SAF Members
Members of the National Stewardship Action Council (NSAC) and Stewardship Action Foundation (SAF) are invited to sign onto a coalition letter urging Governor Newsom and his administration to fully and faithfully implement SB 54—the Plastic Pollution Prevention and Packaging Producer Responsibility Act.
A Law with Economic Impact
SB 54 is not only a landmark environmental policy—it’s also a powerful economic driver. Proper implementation will:
Unlock new investment in domestic recycling and reuse infrastructure
Create thousands of good-paying jobs in collection, processing, and remanufacturing
Support innovation in sustainable packaging design
Reduce costly waste management burdens on local governments, taxpayers and ratepayers
These benefits are only possible if the law is implemented as intended, without carve-outs or delays that compromise its goals.
Your Voice Matters
Thank you to NSAC’s SB 54 Working Group and to every member, partner, and ally who signed our SB 54 letter. Your support sent a clear message to the Newsom administration and strengthened the case for fair, consistent rules that businesses and communities can plan around. The opportunity to sign on ended August 18, 2025.
