On May 27, CalRecycle hosted a public workshop to present and gather feedback on newly proposed regulations to implement and clarify California’s landmark Senate Bill 54 (SB 54).

The National Stewardship Action Council (NSAC)—instrumental in both passing and implementing SB 54—was there. Executive Director Heidi Sanborn attended the workshop and delivered remarks on behalf of NSAC, continuing our leadership in ensuring strong, equitable, and effective regulations.

To support our members in understanding what was proposed—and what it means for producers, local governments, and circular economy advocates—NSAC is hosting a members-only Q&A session featuring

  • Heidi Sanborn, Executive Director, of the National Stewardship Action Council

  • Scott DeFife, a long-time industry champion who serves as President of the Glass Packaging Institute (GPI)

This exclusive members-only Q&A session session will:

✅ Break down key changes in the proposed regulatory language

✅ Clarify next steps and opportunities to influence the process

✅ Provide space for your questions and strategic discussion

📌 This session is only available to NSAC and Stewardship Action Foundation members.

If you’re shaping policy, compliance, or implementation strategies around SB 54, you won’t want to miss this opportunity to engage directly with one of the law’s leading architects and advocates.
